Janssen Engineering Group was contracted by a customer in the pool industry to design and fabricate an automatic vacuum shut off control for pools. This shut down switch would prevent a pool user from getting caught in a drain. Showcasing our engineering capabilities and tooling experience, our CAD/CAM software was utilized for mold design, part design and analysis, and we employed injection molding and circuit board manufacturing techniques to fabricate the tooling and produce the part. The component was constructed with plastic-fiberglass polycarbonate material, and completed in a gloss finish. Overall part dimensions were 4” x 4” x 9”.
The part was fully tested for quality and integrity using testing procedures developed by OSI particularly for this product. 25,000 units were manufactured within a 90 to 120 day turnaround time and shipped to the customer in Florida.
